Know more about the Social Optimum Mobility Index and a new Atlas of Accessibility

The GOLIA project has published Deliverable D1.4, SOMI and Atlas of Accessibility, a major milestone that introduces the Social Optimum Mobility Index (SOMI) and a new Atlas of Accessibility to help cities assess mobility systems from a social, inclusive and rights-based perspective.

The deliverable provides a transparent framework for evaluating how mobility solutions affect different user groups through eight key dimensions, including accessibility, affordability, safety and participation, while also mapping spatial accessibility across the pilot cities of Antwerp, Florence and Pilsen.

By combining data, stakeholder input and persona-based analysis, the framework supports more equitable and evidence-based mobility planning, helping cities better understand who benefits from interventions, where accessibility gaps remain, and how mobility policies can contribute to a more just and sustainable urban future.
