GOLIA Webinar: Exploring the legal definition of Mobility as a Right
How can cities ensure that everyone has access to the opportunities they need to thrive?
This year, GOLIA published its first White Paper Mobility as a Right: Building Fair, Accessible and Sustainable Mobility Systems for Everyone, build on the basis of Deliverable D1.3 and making the case for recognising mobility as a fundamental right that enables access to employment, education, healthcare, culture and civic participation.
Join this GOLIA webinar to explore the potential of a legal definition of Mobility as a Right with the authors of the D1.3. Drawing on legal and policy analysis at European, national and local levels, as well as insights from the pilot cities of Antwerp, Florence and Pilsen, we will explore how mobility systems can become more equitable, accessible, affordable and sustainable. It outlines the legal foundations and societal implications of the Mobility as a Right (MaaR) concept, introduces recommendations for European institutions, Member States and cities, and proposes practical tools such as the Social Optimum Mobility Index (SOMI) to support implementation.
